Here is what our workshop entails:

🧩 Genes & Traits – Decoding DNA Students engage in an interactive coding activity using colours and symbols to understand how genetic information is stored and transmitted. Through collaboration, they decode messages and discover how simple codes can build complex living systems.
📊 Predicting Inheritance Through guided, hands-on activities, our young explorers will step into the role of geneticists use Punnett squares to predict how traits are passed from parents to offspring, gaining a clear understanding of dominant and recessive characteristics.
🧬 Build Your Own DNA Working in pairs, students construct DNA models, exploring base pairing and sequences while understanding how genetic variation creates diversity among living organisms.
🔬 DNA Extraction Students participate in a real DNA extraction experiment using strawberries, following structured scientific procedures to observe DNA with their own eyes. This practical activity enables them to observe genetic material, making the learning experience both highly engaging and memorable.
🕵️Mutations & Genetic Changes By analysing DNA sequences, students investigate how mutations occur, how genetic material changes over time, and the impact these changes can have on living organisms.
